Dandelion Wine - Scene 1 (The First Day of Summer - 1929) A Trio for Flute, Horn and Percussion, this is the first movement (Overture) of a projected five movement suite, in which each movement will evoke a scene from Ray Bradbury's fantasy novel "Dandelion Wine." This scene describes the opening chapter, in which the book's main character, Douglas Spalding (Age  12) awakens on the first day summer and "conducts" the town and sunrise as night becomes day. This movement was premiered by Dr. Tracy Doyle, Dr. Angela Winter and Dr. James Doyle in November 2018. A link to that performance can be found here. It's about five minutes long. Dandelion Wine - Scene 2 (New Sneakers) This is the first movement (Scherzo) of a projected five movement suite, in which each movement will evoke a scene from Ray Bradbury's fantasy novel "Dandelion Wine." This scene describes Douglas Spalding's feelings of energy and flight when he puts on his new pair of sneakers and throughout his adventures in his home town. This movement has not yet been performed, but an MP3 file of the Sibelius midi can be found below. Available for $30.00. Corno Lontana - Fanfare for Two Horns and Wind Ensemble Originally written for and performed by Adams State University's Wind Ensemble, Corno Lontana is a 5-minute Grade 4 work featuring two obbligato horns accompanied by wind ensemble. The work is an impression of the distances and echoes that can be found in the valleys and mountains of the high plains of southern Colorado. This movement was premiered by in November 2018 by the Adams State University Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. James Doyle, with Dr. Angela Winter and the composer performing as horn soloists.
